Double Zero Wines is a family-owned and operated house of fine wines working in partnership with the natural world to steward wines from soil to glass that let the land speak for itself.
What started as a small family project of seven barrels of Pinot Noir in the back room in Amity, Oregon has become a beloved collectable wine project in three major winegrowing regions in the cool climate world: Willamette Valley, Burgundy, and Champagne.
Follow the history of 00 Wines below.
2015
00 Wines is founded. The first commercial vintage is harvested and produced in the back room at Coehlo Winery in Amity, Oregon, alongside the early vintage of Lingua Franca. Léa Lafon, the General Manager of her family’s estate in Meursault, Domaine des Comtes Lafon, joined us as our first harvest intern.
Together with Chris Hermann, Léa presses off the Chardonnay that will become the first ever Chardonnay bottling from 00 Wines – the 2015 VGW “Very Good White”.
2016
00 Wines expands our Chardonnay program in the Willamette Valley with two additional bottlings: the first EGW “Extra Good White” Chardonnay blend. One barrel of Bunker Hill Chardonnay was so exceptional in barrel, and we decided to bottle our first ever single vineyard Chardonnay.
